Anti is the new Atlanta, it’s really that plain and simple. It seems like the city and the industry alike are starting to understand how talented this young man truly is. Past that he’s brutally authentic and the music bleeds emotion. In just 6 cuts we hear a number of shades and styles all with pristine production.
“Let Them Know” and “Redman” both bring an electric energy to the table and then flow into the heartfelt “Makin’ Noise”. With a guest feature from 952 Lil Quinn, we hear this duo deliver unwavering confidence. “Devil On My Shoulder” is an introspective cut where Anti reminisces of who he’s lost and what it took to get where he is today. The final two cuts on here don’t dwindle or lose any passion. A Mary J sample melded to some keys allows Anti to show his loving side with a woman of his choice. Then “Expressions” rounds everything out with the wondrous arrogance that Da Menace shines in so vividly.
Overall you cannot deny this young man and what he’s bringing to the table. This is the precursor for Legendary, his album dropping on September 21st. Until then peep the abundance of gas below.
