BigBabyGucci is a veteran on our pages, but his sound never bores the ear and has been refined over the years. Though his sound may have evolved and elevated, Gucci still sticks to a certain formula. Rocco produced “Minimal (Intro)” which starts things off in a vividly ambient manner. “$700 Shirt” featuring Kevin Kazi is much more uptempo and Kazi essentially tears the production off the hinges. Cuts like “Pink Matter” and “Time Wasted” build off the bellowing bass lines, while layering Gucci’s voice to near perfection.
“3 AM in LA” reminisces with some early millennium sounds, all while 30rock, Austin Skinner, Teflon and Gucci float throughout the soundscape. Fish handled seven of the cuts on here truly showcasing his full spectrum of talents. Both he and BigBaby have crafted a distinct sound and this project is a great gift to the fans.
