Rae Sremmurd hopped onto the scene in a fury and haven’t looked back since. Their single “No Flex Zone” took the world by storm, and even though they were expected to be one hit wonders, they shocked everybody. They continued to give us banger after banger, and under guidance of Mike WiLL Made It, they established themselves as a major force. Their year in 2015 was a year that many would dream about.
Rae Sremmurd, which stands for Ear Drummers spelled backwards, showed the world how to operate singles and to make the most out of your campaign. As they gave us more and more singles, they continued to embrace their fun-filled lifestyle, showing the world that two kids can do whatever they want. They spread their fun wherever they go and enjoy all the spontaneous moments that make up their life. With no complaints and no worries about the negativity that might come their way, Swae Lee and Jxmmi are loved by everybody. Their fun nature is irresistible. Word spread quickly that their performances were one of a kind and wherever they went the crowd would go wild. This led to bookings going through the roof, as they started to headline every city with international shows becoming the norm for them. While they were doing this, they were expanding their singles for as long as possible. With two platinum singles already out, Rae Sremmurd’s numbers don’t lie. They’re hitmakers.
Their campaign really spoke for itself. They never oversaturated us with music and made sure they locked in heavy features to further increase their influence. It wasn’t until the start of 2015 that we received a full project from Rae Sremmurd. Before this, they were doing shows off a few singles and features. Now their debut album SremmLife is out and it is filled with nothing but hits.
Their music is crafted with purpose. They don’t aim to ever be something that they are not. The complexity of their music might not be up to everybody’s standards, but it doesn’t have to be. From the die heart hip-hop lover to the new age listeners, Rae Sremmurd crafts their music to just sound like a good time. Their music is literally fun. I mean they were traveling the world and not even 21. They were in all the strip clubs and hottest parties. That’s what people dream about growing up and they were doing it. The music is a reflection of that. It appeals to the part of everybody that just always wants to feel good. Their music is a constant high and affects any ears that it comes across.
With only 11 tracks, they supplied us with an album that would allow them not to have to release anymore music for the rest of 2015. The album was able to remain relevant the entire year throughout the numerous releases after by other artists. They gave us music videos that further reinforced their fun lifestyle. Some included wild parties, international adventures, and the fast life. Along with the music, everything they do is what they want to do. They throw parties in the cities they go to. Wether it’s a house or an official venue, they want to make something happen. They’ve shown they can handle the teenage crowd, the college crowd, and the older crowd. They’ve filled their social media with videos of them dancing and being wild. They dance on tour and even teamed up with Internet dancing star SheLovesMeechie to bring his own entertainment to stages all over the world. They’re doing what they want and that’s everybody’s dream at some point. Rae Sremmurd carries a sense of innocence that affects all their fans.
Something Rae Sremmurd helps to teach is getting the most out of your campaign and to give your music a purpose. Every release has to have a plan and you have to stay 10 steps ahead in everything. Their music had a purpose and they made sure their brand of being young and having fun stuck with them through everything. As they faced the critics who tried to take away from the substance of their music and analyze the skill behind it, they never changed up. You can’t fix what’s not broken. They hit their stride and prospered. As their buzz continues to rise, they now have people anticipating what they’re going to do next. They’ve shown us they have what it takes to capture the world and the music to come next should continue to get better. Seeing the world off one album is a feat in itself and they did it while spreading fun to every location they visited. Say what you want but Rae Sremmurd had a year that racked in accomplishments people dream about everyday.
