Bup has been up and down our pages for the past 12 months and it’s not for some fluke. On the contrary, this young man is truly the future of Pop music. He has the pen to guide the way, but his authenticity allows his fans to connect deeper. names&places is about as aptly titled as a project can get.
Our protagonist tells tales of love, growing up, heartbreak, and other lessons. And an important thing he does is keep us thinking about is how painstakingly real these pictures are in our heads. Obviously “Miranda!” showcases a certain color of sound in our minds, but then cuts like “Kyra!” and “Jack&Jill” all feel like timestamps from the loves of Bup‘s life. Masking these tough realms of subject matter with memorable melodies is an insane feat, but this kid does it with ease. Do yourself a favor and get caught up on Buppy.’s greatness, we won’t make fun of you for being late.
