Cal Rips, a representative of the eclectic Kool Klux Klan collective, drops off his newest effort, PhorYou. The 11-track mixtape is entirely produced by Suede Moccasins, and is well done when it comes to cohesion and its overall a great example of the type of raw, unique rap that is coming out of the DMV area.
Cal Rips is certainly a favorite of mine, and shows why with this project. It also contains some great features from his fellow Klansmen Sir E.U, King Rosé, as well as Obii Say, Kelow and other talented artists.
From front to back it’s a wonderful project and tribute to his mother, who’s unfortunately no longer with us. He also tips his hat to his deceased brother and fellow talented rhymesmith, Avionadramida.
Check out the tape below (my personal favorites are Auto Pilot, Fadeaway & Phor You) and enjoy.

Long live hip hop.
