 Teens in the Park Festival

Chance the Rapper is hosting his first annual Teens in the Park festival, scheduled for Chicago’s Northerly Island on June 24th. This event is free to the public, but only for those between 13 and 24 years old and will feature performances from The Social Experiment, bop artist DLow and more, the Fader reports. Registration is available at Live Nation for any artist who would like to still sign up.

In addition to music, the fest will feature activity tents hosted by organizations like The Art Institute and Donda’s House (the non-profit created in memory of Kanye West’s late mother) that offer space to try out “graffiti art, breakdancing, jewelry making and fashion design.”

“I’m organizing Chicago’s first T.I.P festival. . . SO YOU KNOW ITS GON BE FREE,” Chance tweeted on Tuesday.

Chance was featured on the most recent from The Social Experiment’s Surf, the debut album from musical collective. The side project, which blends hip-hop with R&B and mostly free flowing jazz, is led by Chance’s friend Nico Segal (Donnie Trumpet). The LP – featuring cameos from Busta Rhymes, Big Sean, J. Cole, Janelle Monae and Erykah Badu – is available as a free download on iTunes.

“Every day I literally wake up and figure out when I’m gonna be able to go to the studio,” Chance told the Fader earlier this year. “And in the meantime, I’m trying to do some very fun shit.”
