Monte Booker is an OG in the hip-hop underground and even took his sound to different places over the years and shows off his versatility here once again with a dope flip of “SAD!” The melancholy sounding beat gives the track a completely different feel than the original, and is honestly a refreshing reminder that even the most somber of moments can be looked at in a better light, celebrating someone’s life rather than mourning it, and that’s how I felt after hearing this flip for the first time.
