Chelsea, New York-born and raised YL has been buzzing through the NY circuit for some time. The illusive wordsmith has a different approach to the music than many other rising talents, and puts his all into the crafting not only of the lyrics, but the production and the engineering of his works. The project is executively produced by YL’s frequent and close collaborator, Roper Williams. The two’s chemistry has been developing for years as they’ve improved as a unit from their last release, Open 24, another fan favorite from Young Why. The project was cultivated in both YL’s home studio as well as in XL Recordings’ studio in NYC. The project is an accurate depiction on Y’s energy and vision. The rising artist has done well in curating his own lane of new age lifestyle rap, with a cool fall NYC feel. The album boasts features from a handful of widely overlooked and highly talented artists. Stand out collaborative tracks on the project include, “Hold On,” featuring Pink Siifu, “No Sugar,” with Y’s frequent collaborator and close friend Starker, as well as “Thats On Me,” with fellow rising New York talent Radamiz. Check out the full-length offering below and be on the lookout for dope visual content to accompany the music slated to release soon.
