It’s so gratifying to watch an artist rise over the years. It takes a hell of a lot of work and courage to put out music on the internet for years and just wait to see what happens. Roy Banks, a singer and rapper from Chicago, has been grinding like crazy, and he’s caught our attention with “March 7th.”

Banks has been releasing his tracks on Soundcloud for a minute, but he reaches a new level of artistry with “March 7th.” His storytelling skills are so palpable that it’s easy to feel like we’re sitting with him in his car, stoned, about to eat some fast food. I’ll listen to anything that puts me in that headspace. On his Twitter, Banks called this one a “happy little song,” and that’s just what we need right now. Listen down below.
