I don’t even know how I came across Pressa‘s video for “Lavish,” but I’m glad I did. The Toronto-based hitmaker makes his DC debut today as our latest Chiefer’s Choice, a series in which we try to highlight and uncover the richest talent before anyone else.
What I like about Pressa’s music is that he effortlessly combines club-ready sounds with thoughtful rhymes, adding up to bangers that still have content and depth. He reminds me of Speaker Knockerz mixed with A Boogie a bit, but honestly he’s got his own sauce that oozes through each track, consistently making for quality slaps.
