Every so often, a song kinda just falls in your lap at the right time. In the right place. That’s exactly what Corey Gipson’s latest single “Space” does for me. He sent me the record a few days ago, I gave it a spin on the way to work, and did what I always did when I hear something dope: I jotted it down in my notebook and moved on to the next song.
It wasn’t until the second time I listened to the track that I actually HEARD the South Carolina native’s new single. And it was perfect. It was like I wrote the song myself; pondering the deep questions of life, time, and space, while at the same time accepting all the beauty that comes along with it. It’s like that moment when you were having a bad day and an old lady holds the door open for you, or when the Gas Station clerk let’s it slide when you’re short 20 cents for an Arizona. To them it was just common courtesy, but for me it meant the world.
