Enter the surreal debut album from Houston rapper Danny Watts, titled “Black Boy Meets World.”The album was executively produced by former Stones Throw artist, Jonwayne. It is the first release, other than Jonwayne’s solo efforts, to be released on Author’s Record Company, the label he started after leaving Stones Throw. Recorded in only one week, the debut record gives insight into many of the things that make up Watts life story. Standouts from the 11-track project include “Pill”, a track that focuses on the difficulty of dealing with loss, “Uprooted”, a very personal cut that sheds light on his younger days and the struggles he went through as a child, and “Things We Had To Do” that gives audiences both Watts and Wayne at their very best. The duo hit the road starting next week to promote Jonwayne’s earlier release of Rap Album Two. No doubt Watts will be performing cuts from Black Boy Meets World as well, so be sure to cop your tickets to a show in your city.
