Earl Sweatshirt: “I’m Really Trying To Set My Own Two Feet Down As Me”

After Tyler, the Creator stirred things up on Twitter, it looks like our personal favorite Earl Sweatshirt has gotten into the mix as well. In a recent interview with The Guardian, Earl talks about distancing himself from Odd Future and the brand in general, saying:

“My world is kind of small. I mean, it’s bigger than it has ever been, but when I’m at home I don’t go out to other places. I don’t have a car, either. Every one of my neighbors minds their own damn business. I’m not a person that garners a whole lot of attention.”

When asked if he’d ever work on new music with Odd Future ever again, Earl replied simply:

“I mean, see for yourself. You’ve just got to look, bro, that shit is not cracking,” he said. “Right now, I’m really trying to set my own two feet down as me. The OF thing follows you – it’s viral – even though not one thing I’ve done in the past couple years has been focused on OF.” “It’s my teenage boy club that got famous that I’m trying to not be defined by.”

This shit really gets me down. As a huge OF fan, I wish they could have stayed friends longer. I know publicly they’re “all cool” and everything, but let’s be real, Odd Future is done with for good — and I couldn’t be more devastated.
