Figure It Out: A Few More Songs To Smoke To

It’s funny how the world just tells you to figure it out. We scream and fuss about how important mental health is but this reality isn’t meant for the frail-minded. If you express your struggle, weakness is the category you’ll put in. But if you suppress your feelings and start self-destructing no one will help you when the flood begins. I think a real problem in this world is acting like we care when those are under stress and what we can do to bring them to a new light. I have sadness, worry, and frustration in all of my days so I need to lean on others to make for some relief. So what I’m getting at is the fact it’s really up to you to overcome. Sad reality, but you’re strong enough to make it through. Give yourself some time, but make sure you leave enough in your glass.

Sk808 – Three Wheel Motion (Prod. By OG Herm)

Sk808 is already an unreal producer but his cut “Three Wheel Motion” is something special to say the very least. Floating over the production from OG Herm, Sk808 struts with unwavering confidence. The beat is ominous, but the combination of that with the tonality of the vocals is truly insane. Sk808 is a name to know in 2023, so don’t miss out.

Devin Burgess – ROLLWITME (Prod. By JayxBel)

Devin is really one of the best coming out of Cincinnati. And it’s not just with the raps, this man is truly a mastermind behind the boards. This cut is no exception and showcases Burgess churning out another stellar offering to add to the catalog. The flows are progressive, but still possess that golden flare that Devin brings to the table at all times. Peep it all above.

3vd – Cutthroat

3vd makes his first appearance on our pages and it isn’t by fluke. “Cutthroat” is an energetic wave playing off modernized instrumentation. The subject matter isn’t overly complicated but it still shakes the room to make you pay attention. Jake Irvin did the visuals and turned a colorful canvas into a highly-edited wonderland. 3vd is going crazy, so get hip.

Jaye Cane – End It All

Jaye Cane is another artist making his first appearance on our pages. His smokey tone is ever so present on the cut “End It All” where he devoured the auditory approach. A slowed-down tempo allows the lyrics to sink past the surface. A somber sound to some might be that connection they need to push through. Keep going Jaye.

0nly – Together

A friend in the game sent me this and I’m a sucker for some sample drill. 0nly shares his ode to the bread and you can’t help but move with this one. The energy that this sound possesses is unmatched but this protagonist delivers it in a pristine manner. 0nly has our attention and will continue to have it if the music is this good. Peep the gas above.

Jady – Pink Floyd

This one has been making its rounds on Lean Tok, which is always a great place to find stellar new sounds. But Jady made a song for the sippers and the rest of the world alike. A subtle simple bop that allows Jady to strut across the scene with boisterous charm. Don’t be late on this one because it’s gonna be everywhere soon.

Mallio – TMFG

Cincinnati’s Mallio is also making his first stop on our pages with his project TMFG. This opus is full of anthems for running up a bag but does it in a concise manner. With fifteen heavy heaters to run with, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that this effort stays in the rotation for a while.

DaMo’ – Get Rich Or Die Draggin’

DaMo‘s Get Rich Or Die Draggin’ is a rugged and authentic project to delve into if you want real music. These 10 tracks show a different side of DC but from DaMo‘s viewpoint of it. This isn’t for the frail of heart either, you have to mentally prep for a project as heavy as this. Unapologetic blows to his opposition’s egos, paired with masterful percussion make for a stellar wave up and down this one. Don’t sleep.

Zoot – Dump It

Zoot‘s “Dump It” is laid back and fun to start for 2023. The care-free wordplay is melded with an infectious set of instrumentation. This allows Zoot is flow in whichever way he pleases to showcase his talent to the world. With direction from Annabelle Kamp, this set of visuals is sure to impress.
