Well, here we fucking go. Taking that dive into think pieces because it’s a slow Monday. A few weeks ago there was an uproar around Alphonse‘s critique of Teezo Touchdown. And let’s get this out of the way, we love Teezo over here. It’s unique, genre-bending music in a world full of drab monotony. Now with that being said, I sit here to tell the world that music journalists and everyone else are allowed to dislike things. I think the issue the public had was that it tore down Teezo in such a brash fashion, it felt like a direct shot at his character as a whole.
On the other side of the coin, it showed us how you rally around things you love when they are attacked. This was essentially an accidental marketing push, checking the gauge of who was riding for Mr. Touchdown. Upon us is a new week on a rock hurling us through space, and who knows if Pitchfork should have published that. All I know is that taxes are imminent and I would love to see Mr. Peeair sit down with Teezo for an interview. That would be some great fucking journalism, from an already great journalist. We learn what upsets others as time passes by and no one is exempt from the human experience. I hope you all pay attention a bit more to the things you love, rather than what upsets you, so be well and have a great rest of your day.
Three65 – No Rubbers
Three65 is one of Ohio’s brightest rising stars, but the wild shit is that he’s only getting started. On his new cut “No Rubbers” we are encompassed by this high tempo, passionate ballad about lust. I love the energy because it allows the listener to hear Three cooks in a realm with a high ceiling. Who knows if there even is a ceiling with this kid’s potential, the vocals are really that top-tier. Were always pretty early here at Chiefers, so don’t get left behind.
Bobby Biz – More Than A Band (Produced By 808-H)
Bobby Biz and 808-H are putting on for the state as well, but their approach isn’t as melodically driven. Regardless “More Than A Band” is a true standout from their recent collaborative efforts entitled Alley Boyz. The instrumentation grabs you by the lapels and drags you into the hypnotic auditory world. Biz remains calm and collected while he delivers his gospel to the people. This one is something special, so peep it out above.
Deetranada Featuring OTR Chaz – Purple Punch
Deetranada is putting Baltimore on her back with this one called “Purple Punch”. From start to finish this production handled by Stactic6ix entices the ear and excites the listener. Dee shits on any doubters with her unrelenting prowess and you hear the confidence brimming through the speakers. Chaz adds a more subtle approach, but still boasts a wondrous amount of flavor. This shit is heavy, don’t sleep.
Suzie Tatyana – How To Act
Suzie is another rising act from Kentucky, but her flow sounds like she’s Louisana-bred. Regardless, this young woman floated on this piano-laden canvas and showcased how she can talk her shit precisely. She’s essentially a female version of YB, but in a realm unlike any other. She doesn’t seem like she’s afraid to play with the inflections in her vocals and wants to deliver a savory selection of cadences. “How To Act” is gonna be running through your head all day, so tap in above.
The Detox – League & Two Time Featuring KingxRiko (Starring Teddy Ray)
This is definitely probably playing off my friedness right now, but the combination of the mood is hitting. Teddy Ray adds a brilliant level of comedic relief but League and Two Time start this wave off calm and collected. Instrumentation that will enchant your high, all while detoxifying your soul of that fuck shit. KingXRiko ends things out with his west coast styling to a T. Lay back and burn a few to this.
