The GOAT is officially back with a fucking incredible 23-track album in Tha Carter V. Wow, that feels good to say. It’s been seven years since Tha Carter IV, and this project has been a long time coming. The 23-track album starts off with a monologue from Wayne’s mom, an emotional way to start off the project, with a perfectly placed XXXTentacion feature in the second track for “Don’t Cry”. The progression of the project itself is impressive–this could definitely be up for consideration for the best effort out of all Tha Carter projects. Hard hitting tracks dominate the middle of the tracklist, like “Let It Fly” featuring Travis Scott and “Mona Lisa”, featuring Kendrick Lamar. Towards the end of the tracklist we find Wayne slowing down and getting a bit more melodic. It’s a fantastic project through and through. We shouldn’t even have to tell you, but in case you need to hear it: This is a must listen. Stream the project below.
