With 2020 slowly coming to an end, there has been quite the surge of rising artists stepping into the spotlight working to solidify themselves heading into the new year. One of my favorite finds from this batch hails from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana, and proved to me very quickly that he isn’t afraid to be different— as he shouldn’t be.
Huddyleango, the alternative rapper from Westchester country, blew my mind this weekend with his punchy new single, “Okay!,” featuring one of Internet Money‘s own, TyFontaine. With vigorous production from Decicco Beats, this record had me bumping down the highway feeling like a freakin’ boss (until I realized I was totally just turning up alone). Needless to say, Huddy is no beginner to the hard, trap style. Balancing his own nag for production with his innate ability to create relatable emotions through his rap, the underground trap innovator shows no signs of slowing down now.
If the new wave of alternative rap and trap production is something you’re into, I would definitely recommend peeping huddyleango‘s newest offering. In fact, maybe even take it a step further and listen to the rest of his catalog when you get a chance. You really can’t go wrong. Plus, you’ll be one of the early ones 😉
