This past week, J. Cole followed through on a promise that he made to fan almost two years ago by attending her high school graduation. The fan’s name is Cierra Bosarge, who had contacted Cole in 2013 when she asked Q Deezy of Hot 108.9 to relay a request for a birthday wish from her idol.
Although Cole couldn’t deliver the promise on her birthday, the Dreamville emcee did give her call a few months later and wished her a happy belated.
When they finally did meet, Bosarge presented a letter to Cole, asking if he could attend her graduation in place of her biological parents, who were in prison for frequent drug stints. Deeply moved by her courage, Cole decided to reach out to Bosarge through Twitter and promised to attend her graduation on one condition: If she got accepted into a four-year college.
Thankfully she did get into college, allowing this beautiful moment to unfold before our very eyes.
