Kanye West has been booked to headline Glastonbury Festival alongside Florence and the Machine and The Who for quite some time now. Following the announcement, an online petition calling for Ye to be replaced by another artist gathered almost 133,000 signatures.
In a conversation with Q, Mr. West called the petition “an insult to music fans all over the world.”
Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl points out “every one of those votes is only fueling Kanye’s fucking fire and it could be the greatest show of all time. It could be a fucking disaster.”
Emily Eavis, who is currently running the operations at Glastonbury, said she expects Kanye’s performance amazing, saying “I think he’ll create an incredible show. What he’s talking about at the moment is very exciting. I think he’s going to take it big.”
The show will be live tomorrow night, Saturday, June 27th.
