After being named the generation icon by the California State Senate, rapper Kendrick Lamar decided to stop by in New Jersey for a quick visit to High Tech High School in North Bergen. English teacher, Brian Mooney put together a Hip Hop Lit class to shed light on struggles seen through hip-hop music. In the video above, the Los Angeles rapper surprises the classroom of 40 kids, who all reflect on the experience with Kendrick Lamar and the growth of hip-hop.
