The Spotify editorial playlists are truly a blessing in disguise. Flooded with several tracks, you get a chance to discover up-and-coming artists that are getting recognition for their unique-sounding tracks in their respective genres. Speaking of Spotify playlists, I’ve been introduced to an artist by the name of Khary and I wish I found him sooner. Discovering Khary on the anti-pop playlist was a diamond in the rough with his appealing lyricism and play-on-words.
The song I’m referring to is “Say My Peace,’ by Khary, which has a great vibe all around from start to finish. Learning that his roots are from Providence, Rhode Island really stood out to me to considering I personally don’t know of any artists from that direction. The indie-like production complements Khary’s vocals well, instituting a song that would fit perfectly in a movie. Surprisingly enough, the vibes that I get from Khary are similar to Lupe Fiasco which is a compliment in itself.
I definitely wish I found Khary sooner but I’m also glad that I did now. As I have ventured into his catalog, I have been thoroughly impressed with his progression and versatility.
