“Check” is a pretty cut and dry song, but the way the instrumentation builds around Kayy‘s flow, is what takes the cake. From the bellowing bass paired with kicks, to even a Rick Ross grunt as an added bonus, this sets the scene for K$ubi to shine. And yes, he does so in a magnificent manner regardless of this VHS video’s lack of vividness. The vintage look adds a rugged feel to reflect the reality that this guy lives each day, and gives the music a broader focus.
