Liferoot Music released Medihop last month, and have been evidently busy since. Crabtree, the face behind Liferoot’s curtain, told us recently that he’s been working on a new EP called “Reclooseee” which will have organic vocals on each track, some supplied by rap features and others by Crabtree himself. Liferoot have released two new tracks this week and both show true growth in sound and diversity since Medihop. The first track, “Casual” features Nashville rapper Horus and supplies a modern-trippy take on classic Jazz sounds, and will most likely make an appearance on the EP expected some time this summer. The second, “Tryna Flex” opens with subtle claps, snaps, and a funky ass guitar riff. As the track evolves, the samples come in and out, until we arrive at the trap station for the tracks latter portion filled with plenty of pleasant surprises. Be on the lookout for more from Liferoot as he works towards the “Reclooseee” release.
