The Mello Music Group camp has been on a release tear this quarter with a mix of first listen singles, debut albums and their signature in-house collaborations. The latest news wire from the indie label comes to us as the initial single “Strange Technology” from the exciting project The Life & Death of Scenery being synthesized by producer extraordinaire L’Orange and legendary emcee Mr. Lif. While the early 2016 release of Lif’s Don’t Look Down was his first album in seven years, the quick follow up with the sonic partnerships guru L’Orange is enticing given it is also a follow up to L’s own recent works with label mates Kool Keith, Jeremiah Jae and Stik Figa. With Lif seemingly reenergized, and anything on the table for album alliances, expect the hard hitting features by Akrobatik and Gonjasufi to be the jump off point for the October 7th free release on Adult Swim and extended release by Mello Music Group on October 14th.
