The Carolina craftsman L’Orange isn’t done with his 2014 audible masterpiece The Orchid Days just yet. The wave making producer teams up with director EmaLee Arroyo on a visual for “Need You” that happens to feature bar splitter Blu on an overtly juxtaposed instrumental that weighs heavy on sonic serenity and tasteful melancholy. The cinematic sound waves are then played up in a very hip-hop laden post apocalyptic love story narrative in this filmic project. Further proof that the artists is far removed from just the bars and beats, L’Orange and Blu round out the deeper contextual meaning behind one of the best tracks to drop this year on the Mello Music Group label.
