3. Macadelic
After the release of his debut album Blue Slide Park, Mac Miller decided that it was time to ditch the norm and dive into experimentation. With the influence of psychedelic drugs and a new attitude towards making music, Mac Miller released his 7th mixtape Macadelic, his most experimental work at the time of release.
This hazy mixtape features production that includes sampling of The Beatles and The xx, and also includes an all-star lineup of guest spots including Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, and fellow Pittsburgh native Wiz Khalifa. Despite receiving mixed reviews for its change in direction, Macadelic remains a fan favorite and a telling sign that Mac isn’t sticking to one script.
