1. Faces
Mac Miller’s 11th mixtape Faces tops our list of the best Mac Miller projects. This sample-driven and smooth sounding project is executively produced by Mac under his alias Larry Fisherman, and includes artists such as Earl Sweatshirt, Schoolboy Q, and Mike Jones to name a few. Despite not being praised as much as other Mac Miller mixtapes, Faces depicts Mac Miller at his peak of being an independent artist.
On Faces, Mac Miller goes into detail about his drug-laced stardom as a hip-hop superstar, and explains how even though it’s not all fun and games being at the top, it can sure be an unforgettable and a wild ride. ‘Faces’ production value is top notch, and its variety ensures that none of the 24 tracks sound alike to each other. Despite this being the last of Mac Miller’s run of creating music independently, he sure ended it with a bang – a chaotic, but beautiful bang.
