Marco is a name to know when it comes to this rap shit. He reps the Southside of Atlanta and brings along his story with every single bar. These fourteen new songs in the form of his new project Tha Soufside Villain LP are astounding moments strung together for the world to delve into.
A common theme throughout Marco‘s music is that he’s not here to make friends, he’s here to be the best. “Cage” resides in this twilight zone of a beat, while Plus acts as a guide to furthermore prove his argument. The title track “Soufside Villain” possesses an infectious bounce that almost possesses the body to ride the wave. “Holyfield” is another standout and Plus isn’t afraid to go to war with any of the so-called competition.
And really that’s what we witness up and down this opus, fearlessness, boisterous confidence, and an astounding skill set that cannot be replicated. I mean honestly, we wouldn’t see heavy hitters like Kenny Mason, Grip, or Deanté Hitchcock on here if this guy wasn’t making some serious noise.
“Brink”, “Holyfield” and “PainKiller” show that Marco can shine brightly on his own, but I don’t think anyone had doubts. Real music that evokes emotion in a league of its own. Marco Plus is here to stay so you might as well get hip to the wave.
