Philadelphia has been at the forefront of innovation in music and it looks like we might have the next Philly native right around the corner. NxG has been different since his beginning, even attracting the attention of his city’s iconic producer collective Working On Dying. The group collaborated with NxG back in October of 2021 to bring us NxG’s debut album Outta Here Soon. Outta Here Soon showcased NxG’s range in music from Track No.8, “Back to Basics” where he discusses his dreams to “be in the room where it happened” over a classic sounding boom bap beat, to track No.1 where NxG hops on a more modern, rageful beat and speaks on “running the town” with “no cap and no gown”.
NxG didn’t stray away from creativity on his latest project “Equilibrium” from late last September. NxG added a ninth track and went crazy through and through, “Equilibrium” definitely seems to be orchestrated for a large crowd. NxG had iayze hop on the lead single “Next Up” where the two collide over a crazy Giannii beat where NxG raps about being “the one they bettin’ on when n*****, go to cast they lots”.
NxG has definitely proved he deserved his seat at the table and his 2023 debut is just the icing on the cake. “Viper” produced by EJ Stellar and Jetsonmade, is one of NxG‘s craziest songs yet.
