Over the next couple of weeks, President Obama is set to release dozens of federal prisoners currently behind bars for nonviolent drug charges. According to The New York Times, this new move will result in Obama freeing more prisoners “at one time than any president has in nearly half a century.” When announced, over 30,000 application requests were made by the federal prisoners.

Although this is seen as an accomplishment, due to complicated legal jargon, it will confine most prisoners to their cell for the remainder of their sentence. But hey, still heading the right direction, right? We’ll keep you posted when more information comes available.
