Oregon’s Measure 91 legalization measure, which was passed by state voters in November, is currently “under attack” by typical lawmakers.

One legislative document has even stated that it could push legal marijuana out of Portland.

The group New Approach Oregon, which sponsored the measure, said that forthcoming actions “could jeopardize effective implementation.” The nonprofit political organization alleges that some politicians who are against the regulation and taxation of cannabis for those older than 21 are doing all they can to stop it, which is fuckin’ retarded.

Like, when will this ever stop?

According to New Approach Oregon:

We believe that lawmakers and policymakers should respect the will of voters and first prioritize getting the basics right, like labeling and packaging, so that Oregon can have an effective system in place when marijuana sales become legal next year.

The group also says the biggest threats, include:

  • A legislative effort to expand dispensary location limits so broadly that they would basically be shut out of bigger cities like Portland.
  • An “unlimited” sales tax so high, New Approach says, that it would make legal pot unattractive to buyers, pushing them back to the illicit market.

I swear, I fuckin’ hate humans.
