With production that’s reminiscent of 2010’s trap music, it seems only fitting that Philly rapper Poundside Pop would tap DJ Drama for his new song “BOGUARD”. The single is the rapper’s first as an Epic Records signee and follows up his comeback project, Wock and Roll. Featuring beaming production from Too Dope, Yung Icey, and Akachi Beats, it’s pretty safe to say this one hits.
PSP‘s rise to prominence is far from an overnight success. Back in 2017, the North Philly native dropped “O.S.S,” a track that would go on to define the childhoods of many Philadelphians. However, instead of capitalizing on the momentum, Pop would have a quiet next two years. It wasn’t until the release of “Drippin Again” that he brought his fans’ eyes to his talent once again.
Next came “Off Top,” which churned its way to over a million views and gave him the perfect segway into one of the most cohesive underground projects Philly had seen in years. Pop has set the stage to take over Philly and the world with this new Drama cosign and the rumored release of his ever-illusive Wock and Roll Purple Edition. Check out “BOGUARD” ft. DJ Drama below!
