Milwaukee hip-hop extraordinaire CT has just dropped his first single off of his forthcoming project Not Bad For A Blogger entitled “I Pray.”

This is a song of pain, and dedication to those lost due to gun violence in Milwaukee. Among those, he dedicates it more specifically to his big brother and Syville Smith, who were both murdered. CT has come a long way. CT was raised on the North Side of Milwaukee, and accredits many of his experiences growing up to his music. He was a blogger of hip-hop for a long time, and having been so involved in the Milwaukee scene, he became familiar with the ins and outs of the musical aspect of creating. From short stories, to poetry, to blogging, to hip-hop, CT has really done it all.

I connect really strongly with CT’s music, because it’s pain and emotion being relinquished into his music as a form of therapy. I talked to CT for a minute about his song “I Pray,” and he said this: “A lot of pain, a lot of pride, & a lot of real life went into this record for my city, for the streets, & for my family. I dedicated this song to my big brother, as he was lost to gun violence & Syville Smith who was killed by a police officer.” Lean back and cozy up. Listen to the lyrics in this song, and know that there are problems that exist in the world, and music is a great way to fix problems. Enjoy.
