Timeless is a word that I rarely use when describing things, whether it be music, people or anything that passes by in my life but it’s the perfect word to describe Prentiss’ debut project, i tried. i tried is a phenomenal, well-composed project consisting of 10 tracks, including features from Lil Aaron and Skaiwater.
The debut project from Prentiss gets up close and personal, emphasizing heartbreak, losses, and youthfulness of his. The angelic vocals that Prentiss showcases is something that stands out over calm guitar melodies, utilizing his voice well at only 15 years old. While Prentiss impressed with his vocals, his wordplay is like no other, possessing effective hooks grabbing the listener in and wanting more, especially with “sky is falling”.
Although this may not be the usual high-tempo kind of music that’s trending, this project is definitely worth the listen as you get to know Prentiss through multiple tracks. I’m highly impressed with this project, having personally, no skips, and keeps me returning to reminisce most importantly.
