Pharrell Williams, who is 100% a direct product of the legendary New York Hip-Hop group “A Tribe Called Quest”, was given the opportunity to flip a classic cut from The Tribe’s debut album “People’s Instinctive Travels And The Paths Of Rhythm”. Pharrell’s take on “Bonita Applebum” finds Q-Tip’s courting anthem receiving an infusion of spacy synths, backed with a few vocal samples throughout the song and at the end. Williams isn’t the only artist who will be putting their personal spin on cuts from ATCQ’s debut album. For the 25th Anniversary release of People’s Instinctive Travels And The Paths Of Rhythm, CeeLo Green and J. Cole will also have their own remixes of “Footprints” and “Can I Kick It?” on the album, respectively. For now, press play on Pharrell’s Bonita Applebum remix below & pre-order the 25th anniversary LP, set to release on November 13th, 2015. Enjoy!
