Well talk about an interesting Sunday, earlier this week, Matt from Coalmine Records recently revealed some great news for all the hip-hop heads of the world. Apparently, sometime in March, Pro Era’s A La $ole and BBAS’ J57 will get together for an collaborative effort, with Jimmy handling the production.

Brooklyn based independent Hip-Hop label Coalmine Records is excited to announce the release of the upcoming album between Pro Era rapper, A La $ole and Brown Bag AllStars rapper/producer, J57. Though currently untitled, the album stems from a mutual love for New York Hip-Hop between the Brooklyn artists, and will give fans who crave that much needed boom-bap sound that’s defined the sound of the borough. A date for the album’s release has not been confirmed as of yet, but C.E.O Matt Diamond is aiming for a mid March delivery.

Much of A La $ole’s releases have been alongside the collective’s most critically acclaimed projects such as Peep: The Aprocalypse, and The Shift, but this collaborative effort is the first time in which the Beast Coast rhymer plays centre stage. On working with J57, $ole spoke highly of the Long Island turned Brooklyn act: “I first heard of J57 when Joey Bada$$ first cut that “Big Poppa $wank (Swank Rock)” record over his beat. It sent me back to when I first discovered my love for music, so I was instantly amazed by the production. Ever since then I wanted to work with him and now it’s actually mind-boggling that we are now putting together this masterpiece for everyone else to experience that same feeling I had when I first heard his work.”

J57, who’s production credits include Homeboy Sandman, Skyzoo, Nitty Scott, MC, Denitia & Sene, and Rapper Big Pooh, among others, equates much of his success to the relationships forged during his time working at the former Fat Beats location which closed in 2010, was equally impressed with the opportunity to work with Sole: “I’ve been down with/working with Joey Bada$$ for a couple of years and steadily watching the Pro Era movement. They’re a breath of fresh of air in the NYC Hip-Hop scene and A La $ole was the next Pro I wanted to work with because he’s a phenomenal lyricist. The project came together organically due to our mutual respect for each other’s craft. I know A La will be the next big thing and I’m excited to be a part of it.”

Coalmine Records’ C.E.O Matt Diamond was further quoted as saying, “I’m proud that we were able to connect A La $ole with J57. We wanted to make sure that they would each be a great fit, both musically and from a relationship standpoint, before we put pen to paper, and I’m very excited to show a new generation of Hip-Hop fans what these two talented forces can come up with.”
