Last December, Ebro criticized Complex Magazine’s decision to have SremmLife LP as their third best album of 2015. After months of anticipation, they finally respond to the Hot 97 personality. Along with that, they also talked about the writing credits for Beyoncé’s controversial single, “Formation.”

On Ebro saying they have ghostwriters:

“It’s such a false statement. Where’d it come from? You pulled it out your ass. If you want to know who wrote my shit, go to my album credits I believe they generate a ton of ideas. But that stuff isn’t even writing, it’s just like mumbo jumbo, swag talk. Ebro’s from a whole other generation, which is cool. He probably grew up on Ice Cube.”

On writing “Formation” for Beyonce:

“When I made that Beyoncé hook I was thinking nothing about it. I come in the studio and she’s just like, a goddess or something. Just sitting there. This good aura. They played it for me and I’m like, It’s a new Beyoncé. She put her own twist on it. She has so much sauce on that song, it blew me away. She freaked it!”
