It has been nearly a month since Seattle artist Raz Simone delayed the release of his next project Trap Spirituals, but while embroiled in a beef war with some local Emerald City rappers, he drops off the Jacob Hill directed “Green Light.” Riding even keel through the smooth first verse, it is then on the extended second verse that sees Simone going in on impassioned bars that demonstrate once again why he is a DC favorite. While the conflict with whomever it is he is going at at on the snared up bass instrumental is a bit enigmatic, it was a catalyst for musical output that should have fans elated for the unannounced release of Trap Spirituals.
