I encounter several IG reels daily, consisting mainly of artists looking to disperse their music and expand their fanbase. Usually I just mind my business and scroll away but I stumbled upon an artist by the name of Scotty Apex, an artist I’ve learned that I share quite a few mutual followers with. Scotty did what a lot of artists don’t do(but should) is by making sure the catchiest part of the song is what the consumer hears first along with phenomenal visuals to compliment the track I found, “ROCKETMAN.”
Learning that we have some mutual followers, I decided to dig deeper into his catalogue and learn more about the man himself, Scotty Apex. The Indiana-native showcases raw and real vocals over this ambient and 80’s-like production creating a masterpiece in the meantime. Backed by one of highest quality music videos I’ve seen, both Scotty & director Jay Vision have perfect creative chemistry mixing both of their innovative styles to create a movie. The chorus is one that hits the soul with Scotty emphasizing the drive and desire to want it all and to hold onto those goals.
I believe that I am early to the Scotty Apex wave and I strongly encourage everyone to listen to “ROCKETMAN,” as your first listen.
