I’m one to think that hip-hop is always evolving. I think there’s cycles and shifts in popular sub-sects of hip-hop, and one ever-emerging sub-genre of hip-hop is the UK and it’s grime scene. One of the leading voices of the UK’s hip-hop push is Skepta, who’s been lauded by the likes of every major publication, as well as arguably the most powerful man in music, Kanye West. Today he unleashes another blazing track in the form of “Back Then,” a fast-paced jam that features an incredible flip of Mike Jones’ “Still Tippin'” instrumental by Plastician.
