GoldLink did the hip-hop world a favor when he heavily incorporated off-the-wall electronic sounds into his music, as it ushered in a whole new genre that has been dubbed “future bounce.” While Link was the man who has really introduced it into hip-hop, we’ve seen a few others take on production along the same lines and do magical things with them—enter Innanet James.
The young emcee from the DMV burst onto the scene with his bouncy, yet empowering record “Black,” and followed that up with another strong cut titled “Groupie Luv.” Though his catalogue on soundcloud is only two tracks deep, James has displayed an immense palette of skills and a sound that has evolved past many of his fellow up-and-comers. Be sure to keep an eye out for him going forward.
