ESPN has been running a special on Snoop Dogg and his son Cordell Broadus for the last few weeks. The special is called “Snoop and Son: A Dad’s Dream” the main focus of the show is about relationship between Snoop and Cordell, as the four-star college football recruit pursues a professional career. In the show, Snoop talks about Cordell playing for his beloved USC Trojans. You would think his son would comply, but Snoop’s dreams were crushed, when Cordell announced his decision to commit to UCLA earlier this afternoon in honor of National Signing Day.
Cordell’s decision to commit to UCLA is the second we’ve heard today. Soso Jamabo, one of the most highly-touted prospects, hopped on Twitter this morning to share his excitement about becoming a Bruin, cleverly quoting Childish Gambino at the same time. Cordell will also be joining Diddy’s son Justin Combs, who plays for UCLA’s program as well. UCLA is taking all the the rap prodigies! In a some years we might see Rocket Williams (son of Pharrell) or Sebastian Thomaz (son of Wiz Khalifa) rocking UCLA gear, that’d be dope. But Good luck Cordell, be on the look out for him hitting the field during college football season.
