Legendary DJ and producer Statik Selektah drops another insane single off of his upcoming executively produced album, “8” which is slated to release December 8th. For the new single, “Slept To Death” Statik taps underground legend Curren$y and rising Boston star Cousin Stizz. This unlikely collab is a fucking gem that only Statik could administer.
Spitta laces the smooth sample based production with a tasteful and stylistic verse followed by Stizz closing out the track with a dynamically moving verse. Both rappers come really hard on this one, and for Stizz especially, this track is a real indicator that the young artist can rap on a wide variety of beats and that he can hold his own with a seasoned legend like Curren$y.
