From The Usual Suspects to Reservoir Dogs, and of course anything that Guy Ritchie touches, the classic heist film genre always comes correct with a moving score. The choices made on accompanying audio are often just as vital to the movie as plot lines, character arcs and major twists. Hilton Head, SC producer Stu Enscoe draws upon that sonic motif to develop a high fidelity interpretation of 1970s era heist scenes, while also tapping into modern hip-hop accents to elevate the sound into a fresh concept project. Shots of Keyser Soze are easily pictured with the flutes on “Sun Loafin’.” Or Franky Four Fingers on his way to handle business to the rapid fire funk bass line of “Stop That Man (Interlude).” Although “Timeline” could be mistook as a pure hip-hop beat, this only opens the door to checking out Enscoe’s early 2016 release Chasers, Volume One for more dope instrumentals.
