Here at Chiefers we love to stay tapped in with the newest in hip-hop, and what better way to do that then to spend countless hours on SoundCloud jamming out to some of the craziest tracks you’ve never heard of. This marks the start of a weekly series (or bi-weekly because my schedule can be crazy sometimes) where I delve into the depths of the SoundCloud and hand-pick 5 up-incoming artists that I think are super fire and that you should definitely tap in with. So, without further ado, welcome to The Rising V, and before someone asks yes that is the roman numeral for 5 not a literal “v”.
Herb4K
Herb4K is an artist that has been on repeat for me these last few weeks. He’s an extremely versatile artist, able to deliver some great bars while also utilizing his voice as another instrument. His single “Lost” is the song I’ve been bumping the most. His mix of bars and vocals pave the way for an extremely catchy track. Production from 1vvert, Dynoxmusic, and Benjididit is also amazing, and the effects used on Herb4K’s voice in the track is phenomenal. Stop sleeping on the boy Herb4K and peep “Lost” down below.
YVNG Zander
Virginia’s Yvng Zander is an artist that I was extremely impressed by on my first listen. He’s got an extremely smooth flow, great vocals, and he’s able to stay consistent with his music. My favorite track out by Yvng Zander is “Both Ways”. The production by Cycle and Alyx is pristine and every time I listen the guitar instrumental makes me feel like I’m on a beach in Tijuana smoking a cigar. The vocals from Yvng Zander mesh perfectly and result in a sick track that you can check out down below.
Marski
Marksi is fire, simple as that. The young rapper has a very distinguishable voice, setting him aside from other rappers in the scene. He’s a part of Lil Tecca’s label 1st Class Angels, and the young talent is well on his way to a successful career. I linked his song “Drop Em” down below, which should serve as a good introduction. Great bars from Marski and great production from the one and only Baby Santana, you should definitely tap in.
KD Flee
KD Flee is different and there’s nothing else to say. He’s got some fire bars, but his voice is my favorite attribute. It’s extremely raspy and it just sounds so good on his track “Act Different”. His flow is also dope, and it seems like he’s spitting bar after bar effortlessly. A mellow beat provided by zilo Sage and 3rdeye! mixed with KD Flee’s voice creates the fire that is “Act Different”. Check it out down below.
Kanii
If a rapid flow mixed with precise bars is what you’re looking for, then look no further because Kanii is the one for you. On his single “Push2Start”, the young artist delivers fire bars back-to-back with rapid speed and floats on an intricate beat produced by Kimj. I linked “Push2Start” down below so check that out and definitely tap in with Kanii because we’re excited to see what he’s got up next.
