During his recent interview with the Rolling Stones, The Weeknd was asked about Drake and his current relationship. After acknowledging that Drake was his closest friend in the industry, he went on to say something that surprised all of us.

“I gave up almost half of my album. It’s hard. I will always be thankful—if it wasn’t for the light he shined on me, who knows where I’d be. And everything happens for a reason. You never know what I would say if this success wasn’t in front of me now.”
What makes us all uncomfortable, Take Care is considered the album that put him as the Golden Child of hip-hop. If you remember correctly, The Weeknd appears on two songs from the album, “Crew Love” and “The Ride,” along with writing credits on 3 others.
