The term “instant classic” is always thrown around when it comes to fantastic LP. And although TPAB is only a few days from it’s official release, Kendrick Lamar‘s To Pimp A Butterfly is already being compared to generation breaking albums like Ready To Die, Illmatic, and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
Metacritic, one of the most esteemed compilation reviewing sites on the Internet, has finally released their official rating for the highly acclaimed LP.
The website, which gives a numerical score based on reviews from multiple critics, previously had OutKast‘s Stankonia rated as the highest rap album of all time since the 2000. But hey, things change, right?
To Pimp A Butterfly received an outstanding score of 95 out of 100, tying Stankonia as the highest rated rap album — also surpassing Kanye West‘s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy as the highest rated rap album of this decade. Wow.
