For the last three weeks or so, people have been knocking my door down to champion Tovii as someone to look out for in Philly’s rising rap scene. At first, his gravely tone was kind of off-putting but I began to see a sudden burst of fans flock to his music who I’d never expect to tap into Philly street rap.
With spacey production from Manny Laurenko and sneaky flows, Tovii has prompted everyone from pre-teen suburban white girls to diehard Philly rap fans to beg for more music. Mvrko, who directed the video for “L2W“, showed me DMs from dozens of fans from all walks of life pleading with him to deliver more videos with Tovii.
Despite dropping just two solo singles that are not even a minute long, the young talent has received cosigns from local heavyweights Ot7Quanny, Poundside Pop, and NR Boor among others. Check out his newest track “AL2W” below!
