Two Projects That Are Worth Peeping

I have a burst blood vessel in my eye and our air conditioning went out this week, so you could say things are going great. Below are two projects worth giving a shit about in a world of music you shouldn’t give a shit about. Be well, be safe and make good decisions.

Rogue Kills Flies – The Burning

This one was sent by a trusted ear so I had to tap in. Rogue Kills Flies makes their first appearance on our pages with their project The Burning and it’s stellar music with no frills. You can hear the pain, passion and hunger that were put into this opus. In 15 cuts we are taken to another world full of rich soundscapes and precision flows. The feeling exudes that golden era of rap, but with their own modernized take on it. This NYC bred sound feels natural and not forced or overdone, instead it’s literally Rogue’s bread and butter. Though there are elements of other genres present, from start to finish you will be blown away by how this opus develops. The cuts that really stand out to me are “718 Hell”, “It’s Dark + Hell Is Hot”, “Loops” and “Enough”. Though it should be noted that no cut lags behind the last and a true sense of cohesion is here in the project. Do yourself a favor and peep the gas above.

Mynameisntjmack – mynameisnt

jmack has always been great, but now because of the explosion of Mr. Richman, the world is seeming to take a bit more of notice. Though the brilliant thing about all of this is that new ears are discovering Jmack’s catalog and revisiting hits that we love, but are new to them. This timing was damn near perfect to deliver this project entitled mynameisnt, a stellar grouping of songs with true identity. With features from Johan Lenox, Lord Sko, Blvck Svm, Sol ChYLD, Femdot and Mick Jenkins, this is a melding of talents that we haven’t seen in a very long time. To say that certain cuts standout would take away from the brilliance of this project as whole, so what we’ll say is that mynameisntjmack is going to be here for a very long time, get hip before you’re late.
