Atlanta seems to breed stars like nowhere else, and today’s case is no different. Meet Soso ATL, a freshly unpacked artist seemingly from the South and hot off the trail of a recent out-of-nowhere Yung Pinch feature titled “Flexin'” produced by Tyy Bumpin, who has some serious bars to hand out. Soso doesn’t let off the steam and treats us to “Endangered Species”, a three song EP with an undeniable notion that there’s a new name-to-prover in town.

The triple threat starts with “Want Her”, a beautifully spatial, yet warm introduction into chords courtesy of rising producer Daniel Hartzog, another promising Georgia native and JairTheShadow. Soso flaunts his prowess in a catchy, close to falsetto tone that entrances us into the second act, “Pioneers”, a real from-the-heart, almost-R&B mood-setter. Giving us roller-coaster vocal ranges spotted with verses of deep pain in between, Soso’s voice really comes alive and hits all the way home throughout. The finale, “Bird’s Eye View” produced by Bangs, is a smooth rap-laden bop, the longest on the project with trap-Atlanta vibes shining straight through; but the real gold flakes showing in the confidence of the verses and the stories that unfold within. Soso sunk his feet all the way in with this first project, as it leaves us satiating for more. I’m sure this won’t be the last we’ll see of him and now enjoy the project below!
